Transform Lives for Generations to Come

Your support is the foundation of our work at YWCA. It enables us to provide vital resources that empower women and families in our community. We invite you to explore how you can create a legacy that extends this impact—shaping a future of empowerment, safety, and opportunity, and leaving a legacy that strengthens our community for generations to come.

One of the simplest and most powerful ways to make a difference is by including YWCA in your estate plans. Legacy gifts, such as those through a will or beneficiary designation, offer a lasting opportunity to support women and families without any immediate cost.

If you have already included YWCA in your estate plans, please let us know so we can best honor your intentions.

Leave a Gift to YWCA in Your Will

A gift in your will or trust is an easy way to leave a lasting legacy that supports YWCA’s mission to transform lives. After caring for those closest to you, consider making a difference for women and families, building a future of a stability and empowerment as part of your legacy.

Give a lasting gift that costs you nothing today.

Four simple “no cost” ways to give in your will:

  • A general bequest is a gift of a specific amount.

  • A residuary gift is a gift of all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate after specific bequests and expenses have been paid.

  • A specific gift is a gift of a particular piece of property. For example, real estate, funds in a bank account or shares of a corporation.

  • A contingent gift takes effect only if you survive the primary beneficiary or beneficiaries named.

Designate YWCA as Your Beneficiary

A gift by beneficiary designation is simple, doesn’t require legal fees, and can be adjusted anytime to fit your plans. By naming YWCA as a beneficiary of your retirement fund, life insurance, or other assets, you’re creating a legacy of support that provides safety and strength for women and families in need.

Types of Gifts to Consider:

  • You can simply name YWCA as a beneficiary of your retirement plan to extend your support for women and families beyond your lifetime. This type of gift is flexible - you can adjust your beneficiary designation whenever you wish - and may provide estate tax benefits.

  • You can designate YWCA as a beneficiary of all or part of your life insurance policy. With this arrangement, YWCA will receive the policy proceeds after your lifetime, helping to empower women and families in need. This beneficiary designation is flexible—you can change it anytime—and it may also reduce your estate taxes

  • This is a simple yet powerful way to make a difference and fulfill your philanthropic vision. Next time you visit your bank, you can name YWCA as the beneficiary of your checking or savings account, a certificate of deposit (CD), or a brokerage account, supporting women and families for generations to come.

  • The remaining balance in a donor-advised fund follows the contract established when the fund was created. By naming YWCA as a “successor” to all or part of your account, you help create a supportive community that empowers women and families and fosters a brighter future for those in need.
