Adopt A Family For The Holidays

Share your holiday spirit with our families. 

YWCA’s Adopt-A-Family program is designed to ensure that families in our community who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity are able to celebrate with gifts that make the season special.

When selecting a family, we suggest budgeting around $100 per family member. You’re welcome to pool resources with others—such as your extended family, company or church group—to make your dollars go further. You’re also welcome to adopt multiple families as resources allow. Monetary donations of any amount are greatly appreciated as well and will be used to support the families we serve.

Once you've purchased items from their wish list, please deliver your unwrapped gifts to YWCA by Monday, December 16.

Gift Drop-Offs

Drop off your unwrapped gifts between November 6-December 16 at the following location:

YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County
175 N. Clinton, Rochester, NY 14604

*For directional purposes, use 40 Bittner Street in your GPS. This will bring you to the other side of our building where we offer free, off-street parking. 

  • Weekdays: Nov. 6 and Dec. 6 from 8am-6pm

  • Extended Weeknight hours until 8pm on: Dec. 5 and Dec. 11

  • Saturdays: Dec 7 and Dec 14 from 10am-2pm

*Please refrain from dropping off gifts during the
Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 27 & 28.
