Mai Abdullah

"My experience with the Equity Through Development program has been transformative. As a Black woman in the fundraising field, I’ve often faced unique challenges related to both representation and access to resources. This program created a supportive, empowering space where I felt understood, valued, and connected with other women who share similar experiences.

Through the workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities, I’ve gained skills and confidence that have been instrumental in advancing my career. The program didn’t just teach fundraising strategies—it equipped me with tools to navigate the industry with a greater sense of purpose and agency. Being part of a network of Black women who are committed to equity in development has inspired me to lead with intention and resilience.

I am truly grateful for Equity Through Development for not only opening doors but for also creating a pathway to lasting, meaningful change in the sector. This program is a beacon of progress and a powerful example of the impact that true equity and support can have." - Mai Abdullah, 2023 Cohort
